Eligibility Criteria for UBC Scholarship

  1. All international applicants are encouraged to apply.
  2. The applicant should be enrolled in the UBC Doctoral program, including PhD, EdD, and DMA.
  3. Students from UBC Okanagan Campus are also eligible to apply.
  4. The candidate should not have exceeded 48 months of doctoral studies on campus.
  5. Applicants must be currently registered with the university.
  6. Consideration for applicants in their 6th year (48 to 60 months of doctoral study) will be granted only in highly exceptional circumstances.

How to apply for University of British Columbia Public Scholars Award?

  1. Download the scholarship form and fill it out before uploading it as part of the application process.
  2. Access the form on the PSI website by clicking the "Apply Now" button.
  3. Complete the Canadian Common CV (CCV) from the designated website (https://ccv-cvc.ca/indexresearcher-eng.frm) and upload it as part of the PSI Fellowship application, following the Vanier-Banting Academic CV template of the CCV.
  4. Two letters of support from the applicant’s supervisors should be submitted through the provided link on the Application main page, under ‘Application Procedures’.
  5. Ensure that the recommendation letters bear the signature of the referee, which can be either electronic or digital.
