UNU-IAS Master and Doctoral Scholarship 2019

UNU-IAS is now accepting applications for September 2019 admission to our postgraduate degree programmes: the Master of Science in Sustainability and the PhD in Sustainability Science. The application deadlines are 28 February 2019 for the master’s programme, and 19 April 2019 for the doctoral programme. Both programmes start in September 2019.

Scholarships provided through Japan Foundation for UNU (JFUNU)

Scholarship Coverage:

The JFUNU scholarship provides a monthly allowance of 120,000 JPY* for living expenses for a maximum of 24 months. However, travel costs to and from Japan, visa handling fees, and health/accident insurance costs must be covered by the student. The tuition fees are fully waived for the scholarship recipients.
*The amount of monthly allowance has been changed to 120,000 JPY effective 2017.


 

 

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicants must be persons from developing countries who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance
  2. Applicants who are currently living in Japan under a working visa are NOT eligible for the scholarship
  3. Applicants who want to pursue a second master’s degree at UNU-IAS are not eligible for the scholarship

How to Apply

Applicants must submit all application documents online. Please visit the Degree Programmes section of the UNU-IAS website to find out more about application requirements and procedures. Those who expect to receive the required qualifications before September 2019 are eligible to apply.
